The Casa del Monte is found on top of Mount Ortobene, a large granite relief (955 m), at about 7 km from Nuoro.

Mount Ortobene, freckled with parks and springs, offers a dream scenary because of its granite lumps shaped by atmosferic factors into bizarre forms that often look like human or animal figures.

The house, built in the 1930's, is surrounded by a live oak forest and has been recently refurbished. It now offers 3 comfortable rooms.

On the first floor you find a double room with a private bathroom with a large window facing the forest. On the second floor there are two other rooms, one twin and one double with a shared bathroom.

One of the rooms has a small terrace that faces the Corrasi calcareous mountains, that during the different hours of the day assumes different wonderful colorations.

The house has central heating but on request it is also possible to get firewood for the hearth in the kitchen..

Also available short stays under bed and breakfast formula.

Outside on the other side of the road tha leads to Nuoro you find a large lawn with a playground for kids.

Mount Ortobene is the perfect place for relaxing walks in the fresh and parky air.

Every year at the end of august, Ortobene comes alive with the “Festa del Redentore”, showing local traditions and costumes.
